Guppy Time uses an AI vision model to suggest a guppy's name from a single photo. The model judges only what it can see and can be wrong — especially with poor lighting, awkward angles, low resolution, or multiple fish in frame. Results are not official IFGA classifications and carry no show or breeding authority.

Known hard cases

• Blue vs Green shifts with lighting and is frequently misjudged.
• Tail angle near a category boundary (for example delta vs veiltail) is hard to read flat.
• Half Black can be mistaken for a pattern when it is a colour-class modifier.

This is exactly why every result carries a confidence badge and an ambiguity note. Lower confidence means take it with more salt and, ideally, a better photo.
